Introducing the C5 Mission:
a new global leadership system

What is your leadership mission as CEO? This is your window of power, so what are you going to do with it? Start with the end in mind It is never too early to think about your Leadership Legacy Introducing my 4Ps Legacy Model: the right Legacy is Personal and is also about Performance, People and Planet

“My vision is to set up the “C5” global leadership system, which takes inspiration from the concept of the G8 but is for CEOs. This is a system of powerful and influential CEOs coming together, in working cells of fives, who take time-out from focusing on narrow organisational interests and transcend their organisational borders to collaborate on strategic World Leadership Legacy Missions.”
Niamh O’Keeffe, founder of CEOassist.

My approach via The C5 Mission is to inspire and educate CEOs of global corporations on how they can use their position more expansively to fulfil on their role requirements and solve world problems and improve the quality of our world. This may even involve them working collaboratively with other CEOs in their industry. I will encourage CEOs to think about their legacy and the impact that they can have whilst in office, and beyond. I will generate big ideas for them that will uniquely suit their organisational context, strategic agenda and individual CEO personality & strengths.

Working cells of 5 powerful and influential CEOs, in each industry sector or relevant grouping, will form and personally meet to confirm their C5 Leadership Mission, and undergo a 3 Year Process facilitated by CEOassist to achieve that mission. C5 CEOs will co-operate and solve the most important world problems that affect everybody: achieving a transformational outcome which would not otherwise happen unless CEOs personally stepped up and directly collaborated together.

C5 missions are purposeful CEO Leadership Missions. C5 missions will be clear, credible, actionable and achievable mandates. The legacy of each C5 cell will be the successful completion of their C5 Mission. The legacy of the individual CEO will be his/her personal leadership influence & impact on set up and delivery of that mission.

The C5 mission-led global leadership system will become a continuous and infinite number of CEO cells, forming and re-forming, expanding and multiplying to pool their personal leadership and business skills, and the resources of their organisation, to benefit the world.

The time is now
You can wait and “give back” in the latter years of your life, when your business ego and material ego is satisfied and you feel your business career is behind you, but why wait until the very moment that you have lost the arc of power and influence? You are a leader of your organisation, but why not also realise that as a CEO, for a window of approx 3 to 5 years (in some cases – up to 10 years), you are also a powerful leader in the world.

See the bigger picture: go beyond organisational borders
Understandably obsessed with narrow organisational interests, a CEO often fails to spot opportunities for even bigger commercial and reputational wins where everybody in their industry can benefit, and everybody wins. The C5 Mission system is about solving world issues that transcend industry competition, where direct industry CEO-to-CEO collaboration produces synergies to benefit all parties - shareholder, employee, consumer, company, industry, humanity, world. Everybody can win.

The CEOassist™ process will help guide you
C5 Missions are purposeful CEO Leadership Missions, with clear desired outcomes, and an effective CEOassist™ process will ensure achievement of those outcomes. CEOassist™ is a process that has near term targets where CEOs are accountable to each other for actions agreed and where results are transformational and mutually beneficial. Better, faster outcomes.

CEOassist has the underpinning consulting strategy and execution capability necessary to help CEOs both set out realistic C5 Missions and support operational implementation of these ideas.

• Owner, facilitator and steward of the C5 vision and mission
• Trusted third party broker , and guardian of due process
• Advisor, guide, problem-solver, sounding board and coach to each participating CEO

This is an idea that can have an immediate viral effect. It is an idea that can spread like a virus, because it can be replicated by “C5 collaborations” in every industry. The process can start with high profile world CEOs, and expand to accommodate all willing CEO participants.

You can make a real difference to the world. Your name can live on, beyond your CEO role tenure, and beyond your lifetime.

CEOs of the world, we need you!
A new kind of “DAVOS” for CEOs: less talk, more action, a focus on world leadership legacy and mission-led outcomes.

DAVOS was set up 41years ago. It is just a conference, a meeting place – great, but it is not a dynamic call for action. The world has moved on. CEOs should too. It’s time for a new approach.
